Xabi Alonso has transformed Leverkusen since his appointment and star man Florian Wirtz is now the joint most valuable player in the Bundesliga after a €10 million upgrade to €110m. Bayern were the biggest losers in the intermediary update with their total market value dropping by €47m after seven players were downgraded, but Jamal Musiala and Harry Kane remained the Bundesliga’s most valuable players, alongside Wirtz. Musiala and Wirtz represent the future of the German national team and they also spearhead a plethora of talented youngsters in the Bundesliga. We’ve compiled a list of the top 10 most valuable U21 starlets in the German top-flight.

Bundesliga: All new market values at a glance

Top 10 most valuable U21 players in the Bundesliga

1. Florian Wirtz - Bayer Leverkusen - €110m

The 20-year-old has enjoyed a superb season with Bayer Leverkusen closing in on their maiden Bundesliga title. Wirtz has been integral to Alonso’s gameplan and he’s provided 28 goal contributions in 36 games this season in all competitions. The attacking midfielder will play a key role for Germany at Euro 2024 and he scored his country’s quickest ever international goal after seven seconds in the recent win against France. Wirtz enjoyed a €10m upgrade in the recent update and he will be on the radar of top European clubs this summer but he recently reaffirmed his commitment to Leverkusen.

2. Jamal Musiała - Bayern Munich - €110m

Like his international colleague Wirtz, Musiala is a tremendous prospect with both players now ranking amongst the top ten most valuable players in the world. Musiala has scored 12 goals and provided 7 assists and he’s been one of Bayern’s star performers in a disappointing season. Musiala provided 32 goal contributions last season and his valuation will increase in the future if he continues to shine.

3. Xavi Simons - RB Leipzig - €80m

Simons’ loan spell in Germany has been a roaring success with the Netherlands international showcasing his enormous potential. Simons has excelled at RB Leipzig and he’s been rewarded with a €10m upgrade. The 20-year-old was widely viewed as an attacking midfielder but he’s been deployed predominantly from the wings and he’s provided 22 goal contributions in 36 games.

4. Mathys Tel - Bayern Munich - €40m

Tel has been handed a €10m downgrade as he’s struggled for regular minutes at Bayern. He has still scored eight goals in 33 games but the vast majority of those appearances have arrived from the bench. Tel, however, remains an incredible talent and he recently penned a new contact with Bayern to end speculation over his future.

5. Benjamin Sesko - RB Leipzig - €40m

Sesko required time to settle at Leipzig following his move from Salzburg but he’s flourished recently. The Austrian striker has six goal contributions in his last eight Bundesliga games and he’s received a €10m upgrade. Sesko is one of the most promising young strikers in Europe and his development will be tracked by clubs across the continent.

6. Castello Lukeba - RB Leipzig - €40m

Lukeba has enjoyed a promising maiden campaign at Leipzig after his €30m move from Lyon last summer. The French U21 international’s market value has increased by €15m since moving to Germany but it remained the same in the latest update. Lukeba has been a regular at centre-back under Marco Rose and he remains Leipzig’s fourth most valuable player.

8. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens - Borussia Dortmund - €28m

Bynoe-Gittens’ has failed to score for Dortmund since November but he’s still shown promise. Jadon Sancho’s high-profile loan arrival from Manchester United in January has pushed Bynoe-Gittens down the pecking order but he still has a higher market value than his countryman. The 19-year-old’s market value has doubled across the last year and he’s one to keep an eye on.

9. Hugo Larsson - Frankfurt - €28m

Despite his market value remaining the same, Larsson remains Frankfurt’s most valuable player and he’s integral to their hopes of qualifying for Europe. The central-midfielder was omitted from the latest Sweden squad but Larsson will be a big player for his country in the future.

10. Youssoufa Moukoko - Dortmund - €25m

Tipped as a potential star of the future, Moukoko has endured a frustrating campaign and he’s only scored four goals in the 21 league games. The 19-year-old has been limited to cameos from the bench and he’s only played 488 minutes for Dortmund with his market value dropping by €2m.
